Eroi Urbani – Outdoor Installation in Iași and Timișoara

Eroi Urbani is an initiative dedicated to people who create positive change through social, educational, medical and humanitarian work. Seven representative characters were created for the public presentation of the project and installed in two locations: Lăpușneanu Street in Iași and Union Square in Timișoara.

The creative concept and technical design were developed by Atelier Loft, the project was coordinated by September Media and the initiative received support from NESS Digital Romania. MAGNIUS translated the design into physical outdoor objects, handling production, logistics and installation in both cities.

Seven characters carrying a community message

Each character was designed as part of the same installation, with a consistent visual language and enough physical presence for an urban setting. The challenge involved more than producing graphic surfaces: the concept had to become a series of stable, transportable objects suitable for outdoor display.

Series production required repeatability in structures and finishes while preserving the individual graphic details of each character. Every component also had to be identified and prepared for correct distribution between Iași and Timișoara.

Metal structures prepared for outdoor use

The technical base of every element was manufactured from metal. The process included cutting, welding and finishing, followed by painting for outdoor use. Geometry and connections were adapted to panel sizes and to handling, transport and installation requirements.

In an urban installation, the unseen structure is as important as the visible graphics. Stability, surface alignment and finish protection have to be coordinated before the image components are applied.

Aluminium composite panels and applied graphics

The visible faces were produced from aluminium composite panels, processed and fitted to the prepared structures. Self-adhesive graphics were manufactured and carefully applied to align the visual elements and preserve the colours and proportions established in the design.

Combining metal, aluminium composite and graphics created dimensional objects suited to pedestrian viewing and robust enough for transport and installation.

Acrylic mirror: the public becomes part of the installation

One of the totems incorporated an acrylic mirror panel. Visitors see their own reflection and symbolically become part of the Eroi Urbani story. The interactive element supports the project message without complicated mechanisms: the presence of the viewer activates the experience.

From a production perspective, the acrylic mirror had to be integrated so that it remained aligned, protected and compatible with the adjacent surfaces.

Production, logistics and installation in two cities

According to the project information, execution was completed in approximately two weeks. During this period, the team coordinated metal fabrication, finishing, panel production, graphic application, packing, transport and final installation.

Implementation in Iași and Timișoara required components and work stages to be organised for two different sites. The same approach is relevant to projects that need a consistent visual identity in several locations and a single coordination workflow.

An outdoor project with a social dimension
