Safety and security films are designed to help retain glass fragments after breakage. Depending on the tested system, thicker security constructions can also increase the effort or time required to penetrate a glazed opening.

The complete glazing system matters

Performance depends on film type and thickness, glass construction, pane size and, for higher-security systems, how the film is anchored at the frame. We do not describe every transparent film as a security system.

Assessment before specification

The existing glazing and the required protection level should be understood before selecting a product. Projects with defined certification or resistance requirements must follow the tested system and manufacturer documentation.

Installation quality

Glass must be prepared carefully and the film installed in accordance with its specified system so edge conditions and adhesion are controlled.
