Production Partnership with Architects – From Concept to Execution

An architectural concept becomes real through decisions about materials, thicknesses, joints, tolerances, light, fixings, transport and installation. The architect retains creative direction and the relationship with the client, while the production partner translates the visual intent into a solution that can be manufactured and installed responsibly.

MAGNIUS works with architects and architecture practices on signage, brand elements, illuminated features, cladding, lightweight structures, decorative panels and other bespoke objects. We do not replace architectural design or claim authorship of the creative concept; our contribution is technical development and delivery of the agreed scope.

From visualisation to production detail

A rendering communicates form and atmosphere but rarely contains every detail required for fabrication. We analyse geometry, materials, assembly sequence, fixing points, cables, service access and how the object will be transported into the location. When technical limits appear, we propose options and explain their effect on the concept, cost and programme.

Our technical design and consultancy can begin after the visual direction is approved and may include construction sketches, samples, prototypes or production clarifications.

Different materials, coordinated details

Acrylic, PVC, aluminium composite, metal, MDF/HPL, wood, vinyl, textiles and LED systems behave differently. A successful joint accounts for expansion, weight, flatness, surface protection, reflection and maintenance. In mixed-material projects, the interface between materials is often more important than either material considered in isolation.

Samples and prototypes before a series

For sensitive finishes, lighting, interactive elements or repeat products, a sample can remove ambiguity and validate the solution before final production. Prototyping is not necessary for every commission, but it is valuable when the risk of an untested decision exceeds the cost of the test.

In-house production and coordinated specialists

MAGNIUS uses CNC routing, CO₂ laser processing, automatic channel-letter return forming, printing, vinyl application, plastics fabrication, LED integration, assembly and finishing processes. Depending on complexity, selected metal operations, coatings or technical specialisms may be delivered with dedicated partners. We do not describe the entire chain as exclusively in-house when external specialist technology is involved.

Clear roles and approvals

An effective collaboration establishes who approves the drawing, material, colour, sample, supporting structure and site positions. Revisions should be centralised, and the issue released for production must be identified unambiguously. When calculations, checks or statutory approvals are required, the appropriate specialists are involved.

Installation is part of the technical solution

Door sizes, lift access, working hours, protection of finished surfaces and sequencing with other trades can change how an object must be divided. Transport and installation are therefore considered before fabrication, not after the product is complete.
